CLARA GARRIDO

CLARA GARRIDO

Clara Garrido is a London-based Colombian experimental photographer whose practice is driven by play, intuition, and performance. Rooted in curiosity, her work approaches image-making as an open-ended act of exploration, where the camera becomes both tool and toy, and the body operates as an active, performative presence within the frame.

Working with photomontage, long-exposure techniques, light, smoke, and self-directed performance, Garrido constructs human-crafted illusions shaped by instinct and experimentation. Through staged gestures and intuitive interventions, images emerge through process rather than pre-defined outcomes, transforming environments into sites of imagination.

Her ongoing project World of Illusion reflects a sustained commitment to process as meaning. Blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction, documentation and imagination, the work dissolves geography into abstraction and invites the viewer into suspended, dreamlike worlds. Her practice quietly affirms play as a vital mode of exploration and knowledge.
